week of 8/17-8/20 Lots of happenings

Mon 8/17 a quilt was presented to a WWII Vet on his 90th birthday by his friend and caregiver.  My long time friend Walter Davis a WWII navy vet who turned 90 today. I presented him a quilt on behalf of the Quilts of Valor organization for his service. I have to pitch this because this is a great organization to donate to. I am the Veterans Affairs Chairman for the Orange County Chapter and the State of Calif Sons of the American Revolution. I have partnered with So Cal. QOV for over 3 years to honor our Wounded Warriors and veterans. These are a home run gift for these vets and they always are so happy and humbled to receive these beautiful lovingly made quilts. If you are looking for a place to give a little something to honor our heros. Please this is it!! Check them out on facebook at So Cal Quilts of Valor

Thank you!

I made the Day Dreams pattern in beige/brown #3345 and again in blue/purple #3346–they sure look different!
Adam brought his service dog, Rakkastan (SP?) that he got through Pets 4 Vets in Long Beach. He is a recent graduate of USC, so the back of his patriotic quilt incorporated Trojan fabric!

Next we had Bruce and his two young sons. He is Helga’s agent,so she made the quilt. The picture cut of the fact that it has the Air Force panel in the center of the star.
